Daughter of Masuda and Solomon (Shlomo) Sabag

My parents, the late Masuda and Solomon (Shlomo) emigrated from Morocco in 54, with four children. They arrived at Moshav Yoshveya near Beersheba. In november 54, shortly after immigrating to Israel, my mother had another daughter in the Hadassah Dr Yaski Hospital in the Negev in Beersheba by. My mother says that immediately after the birth, she was separated from her daughter that was healthy and beautiful. She remembers a nurse with an American accent, big-bodied, who was with to the baby all the time and did not allow my mother to be with her, except during feedings. A few days after birth the baby was brought to my mother to breastfeed, then, they said to her, they will be discharged and will be able to go home.

After she breast-fed her, the baby was taken from my mother, and shortly thereafter (and hour or two more or less), they told my mother that the child had died and was taken for burial. My mother wanted to see her in her grief for the last time but hospital refused, saying that she was taken for burial. They also refused to show the family a grave.

The hospital did not forward any documents to the family - no birth certificate, no death certificate, nothing. As if there was no baby, and my mother was just sent home empty-handed. We made an attempt to clarify the matter with the Ministry of Health and attempted to reach the medical file but without success.
